What We Do in INTERPOL Cases
We act for individuals affected by an INTERPOL alert. Two applications carry most of the work: a request to the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files to have the data deleted, and — where deletion has already been refused — an application for revision based on new facts. Both are decided on the written file, so what is submitted is what decides the case.
Which application fits your situation
The two are not alternatives you pick between. The second only becomes available once the first has been answered, and it is admissible only where something has genuinely changed since. Filing the wrong one spends the strongest argument on a procedure that cannot consider it.

What comes before either application
Neither application starts with an argument. Both start with establishing what is actually recorded, because nobody outside the Organization can see it — no public database exists to search, and any service offering to check one is selling you nothing. The route that answers the question is a request for access to your own data.
Once the record has been read, the argument follows from what is in it rather than from what the case is said to be about. The grounds on which data is deleted are defined ones, each needs its own evidence, and which of them carries a file is decided after the record is in hand.
How the work is handled
- Written procedureThe Commission decides on documents. There is no hearing to attend and no oral argument, so the file is drafted to be read once, in order, by someone who has never seen the case.
- Who does the workThe lawyer who reads your file is the one who drafts it. Handling is not passed to an administrator after the first call.
- LanguagesThe Commission works in English, French, Spanish and Arabic. Supporting documents in other languages are submitted with translation.
- TimingThe Commission’s own rules set the procedural deadlines. We give the timetable that applies to your file rather than a general estimate.
